This monk was set on fire as part of a protest. This photo affected  a lot of people in many ways even JFK

said “No news picture in history has generated so much emotion around the world as that one.” . I don’t necessarily hate this photo but i don’t like it either. This photo is however very captivating and inspiring because the man cared so much about his cause he set himself on fire for it. That’s dedication.

The Hindenburg was a tragic event  that claimed the lives of  many people. this image affects me because one of america’s worst tragedies ever.

This photo shocked a lot of people i think because they dont realize that children are apart of war and it really opened their eyes mine included.

Aaron Siskind

My first impression of Aaron Siskind is that his work if weird and occasionally hard to comprehend. Aaron Siskind achieves his abstraction in most photos by get close to the subject and changing the angle of the photo until his photo gets the abstract effect. Aaron seems to use a lot of contrast in his photography and occasionally repetition like in the the first photo above. I could use his emphasis on contrast and employ his techniques of foot zooming and unique angles.
